We arrived in Jinan later than expected. The afternoon visit to Grandmaster Li Enjiu’s school is postponed to tomorrow morning. However, we had time to have dinner with Grandmaster Li Enjiu and Hong Youyi’s family. I also invited my taiji brother and good friend Cai Shengye. Hong is Grandmaster Hong Junsheng’s number 6 son. Here are some photos. Dinner was held in Jinan Hotel, where I worked and was taught by Hong many times back in 1983.

In this video, Master Chen teaches a new foundation exercise to develop the ‘hinges’ in our body. The hinge is one of the most important techniques that the Practical Method system uses to develop higher levels of taiji skill. Sinking vs. Downward 4

by Khamserk on 2010/07/11

Every move in Taiji is a downward move.  This begs the question how many moves can you make before you are sitting on the floor?  Master Chen says if you can make every move a downward move without going down then you have got it.  The key is that downward is a rotation.  This rotation is called sinking.

It’s nice to have some visitors from the Wulian County and the Rizhao City to come visit us. Here are some photos they took. We had a morning session together and then had breakfast on Daqingshan. After breakfast we gathered around the Yulange Hotel lobby and did some taiji again. Thanks to Steven Chan, Michael Winkler and Kham Serk for showing them what push hands energy and power are like. Some of these people (9 in total) grow up with me so this is a friendly visit.

This gave me the chance to visit Dr. Choi here in Taipo.  I have passed by Dr. Choi’s clinic many times, Read more
