I remembered Master Chen telling us similar stories.
This is the wushu demonstration put on by the Zitongshan Martial Arts Academy for Daqingshan International Taiji Training Center students. After the demonstration, Zitongshan students also exchanged and demonstrated taiji.

Recently I made some interesting experience in push hands situations. This year, after my first stay on Daqingshan I did change nearly all my Taiji practice to “Practical Method” (circles and Yilu mostly), simply because I got the feeling that this way to practice is much more intense and “on the point”.

Here is a clip from the Dot mini-lesson to illustrate the concept of creating rotation from a fixed dot outside your body. In DQS Master Chen showed this to me but I have a hard time understanding what he meant until I draw the circle of the rotation. I hope this short clip from the Dot mini lesson clarify this technique.
This seminar gave many students an opportunity to work closely with Master Chen on movement relationships: hand to foot, elbow to knee, and shoulder to waist. Qua exercises and coordination exercises were used as part of the learning of relationships.
