Master Chen Zhonghua is a 19th generation master of Chen Style Taijiquan under Grandmaster Hong Junsheng
He is a second generation master of Hunyuan Taiji under Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang.
Massimo Neresini of Italy is accepted as Master Chen Zhonghua’s 91th disciple. The ceremony was witnessed by disciples Giuseppe Bon from Italy,Pavel Codl from Prague, and Steven Chan from Canada
During a weekend workshop in Maple Ridge, B.C. Canada on Dec. 18, 2011, Gino Nasato of Victoria, B.C. Canada became Master Chen Zhonghua’s latest disciple in the lineage of Hong Master Hong Junsheng’s Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method system. Gino is Master Chen Zhonghua’s 90th disciple.
The ceremony was attended by 16 people from Maple Ridge, Vancouver, Seattle, Vancouver Island and Philadelphia.

Some photos of Jesus and Hilda’s discipleship ceremony in San Juan. The ceremony was held at the training location which is the Puerto Rico Sport Center. We had to make do with what we had: no chairs or tables. It was the thought that counts. Both Jesus and Hilda are serious students of Practical Method and are sincerely people. I am very happy to have accepted them on the recommendations of Raul, Xavier and Rafael.

Within Chinese culture, any traditional skill may be passed down from master to disciple, whether it be martial arts, scholarly arts, painting, cooking, even the art of being a barber or an executioner. Becoming a disciple forges a unique bond between you and the long line of ancestors who forged your tradition before you. It is a very special relationship between master and disciple, full of ritual and meaning. You become family. However, like so many aspects of Chinese culture, it is woefully misunderstood by outsiders. Read more
Master Chen Zhonghua is a young person (aged 45 in 2005) of the old school. He is from an unbroken line of taijiquan lineage. He is much more concerned with the proper transmission of the art than the promotion of taiji for self defence and health. This is not to say that his taiji does not include these two aspects. On February 6, 2009, Xavier Santiago of San Juan was accepted as Master Chen Zhonghua’s disciple through a brief ceremony presided by Raul Pujol. Xavier has been a student of Chen for several years. He became increasingly interested in the Chen Style Taijiquan as taught by Master Chen Zhonghua after attending workshops in Atlanta and Fairfield, IA. Last year, Xavier made trips to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Maple Ridge, BC. Canada to work with Master Chen.
The ceremony marked a milestone in Xavier’s life. He is currently pursuing his studies as a medicine doctor. According to him, Chen Taiji has helped him concentrate in his academic studies and improve his marks.
The ceremony was witnessed by all participants of the San Juan workshop and fellow disciples Humberto Pomales, Raul Pujol, Richard Druitt and Rafael Velilla, all of Puerto Rico.

After appointing Li Enjiu as the standard bearer for Hong Junsheng’s Taijiquan in 2002, the Hong family appointed Chen Zhonghua as the international standard bearer for Hong’s Practical Method system on June 19th, 2005. The ceremony was held at the First Annual International Symposium of Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method System. Standard Bearer Li Enjiu attended and presided over the ceremony. Hong Junsheng’s senior son Hong Youren came from Cangzhou for this special occasion. He issued the official certificate to Chen Zhonghua on behalf of the Hong family. On this historical day, Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method enthusiasts from China and abroad gathered at the second floor of the Shun Geng Shan Zhang International Conference Center in Jinan.
