Today, I pushed hands with a few people. I realized how afraid I was of falling. I knew that I needed to get closer, and was trying to do kua-to-kua. However, every time the opponent tried to come in, I knew the kind of move he was trying to execute, and I would get caught and fell if he successfully got into position.

Hi everybody,
I think now it’s time for a little message from Berlin. Last year in August I did change my Taijiquan classes in Berlin completely to “Practical Method”. Here are some pictures taken this summer.
Meanwhile there is a little group of attendants who got into the practice quite deep in short time, and there are some more who visit my weekly classes regularly.
We are holding an Open House August 27 (Saturday) and August 28 (Sunday) from 10 am to 1 pm. Our address is 5222 – 86 street and we are giving FREE LESSONS.

Michael Koh is in HK visiting us. He brought along a local friend K.V. to our usual Monday night practice. Along with K.T. and John, we practiced from 8pm to 10 pm. We did some drills and push hand, and lots of discussion on Taiji principle. I am hosting Michael in my brand spanking new place in the countryside. We talked more about Taiji till 2 in the morning before we turned in:
Master Chen:
I have a question for you. I have heard you use the term “power up” quite a bit in the context of push hands. Can you elaborate on this some more, as I am not quite clear on what this exactly is since I have not been able to meet you yet or experience this myself. Perhaps a mini-lesson would be possible.
Thanks!

We will be having our summer get together the weekend of July 23 and 24 at Pikes Peak State Park in McGregor, Iowa. We will be working on Yilu forms, foundations, applications and push hands. All skill levels are invited to attend. There are motel/hotel rooms available in McGregor, but it is advisable to book early, McGregor is a casino town and the rooms are usually full. One can also check for rooms in nearby Marquette and Guttenberg, Iowa. There are camping spots available at the park. http://www.iowadnr.gov/parks/state_park_list/pikes_peak.html For more information, contact John Upshaw (319) 404-3962.
We are using tudou.com to host the videos because of its faster upload speed from Daqingshan. Let us know in the comments if you have problem viewing the clips.

In May of 2011 I travelled to Daqingshan for the third time; my earlier visits took place in 2007 and 2009. The purpose of this trip was to receive further instruction from my Master, Chen Zhonghua, and to offer him my support by taking part in the First International Hong Junsheng Taijiquan Seminar and Competition. While commitments back in Canada meant that this trip was shorter than previous ones, I feel I learned a great deal from this visit. Read more

I have been practicing Cheng Man Ching 37 style for 2 years, and in 2010 Apr, I started learning Chen Style Taiji in Singapore. After 3 months, I walked away feeling frustrated as I realized that what I learnt was “flower punch”. Nothing more than moving and waving my hands in the air. I didn’t give up and searched further on the internet brought me to a direct lineage from one of the master from Chen Village. I told myself, this teacher cannot be wrong. I signed up a 3 months course.
