I met Alfred Yu and Hannes Richter last year when they came to Phoenix to attend Master Chen’s workshop. They could not come to Master Chen’s workshop this year. So, they invited me to go to Irvine to teach the foundation and Yilu. It’s a short trip for me. I took a morning flight from Phoenix to Orange County, by night I got back home.
There are five people came to the class on Sunday, November 16. Three of them were total new to Practical Method. I taught foundations in the morning. I showed them “twisting towel”, “fetching water”, positive and negative circles, explained the purposes of each exercise, their elements in forms of Yilu, the concepts of “don’t move”, “open kua”, and “rotate”. In the afternoon, I taught the first 13 moves of Yilu, then a little push hand. It was a successful day. One person was going to stay just for an hour. It turned out that he stayed for the whole day.

It was cold, wet and grey when I arrived on Daqingshan in May. Under my cold, cold breath I cussed Singapore friends who told me to pack short-sleeve tees. And oh, the stairs! Stairs to Wangting hotel, stairs to Changxing training hall, and more stairs to the condo. Surely the three weeks of training ahead would drag on. Read more
I have just come back home from a month training on Daqingshan. I enjoyed it immensely and wanted to write a bit about my experience in hopes of convincing others who are thinking about going to go. Rachel, Daniel and James did an excellent job organizing an Open House and Workshop for the Weekend of April 05-06, 2014. I just made it home from the workshop in Puerto Rico. I had a wonderful time, far too short. Master Chen’s teaching and guidance was exemplary as usual and much appreciated.
I met and made a lot of new friends, brothers and sisters on this path to learning Chen. A special thanks to Raul Pujol, Rafael and Olga for their kindness and hospitality. They made the trip easy and enjoyable.
I will definitely get another trip planned for the near future where we can get together for some training and more. Thanks again guy’s.

In addition to Gene Hess’s great notes “Lines on the Body”
We can produce 9 lines in different dimensions on the body. We put these lines on our opponents body in different dimensions, you do not have to be touching the opponents body to create a line.
The more lines we can produce on our opponents body the more uncomfortable we make them feel and they eventually bounce themselves out.
Four days workshop: we worked on ensuring evenness of energy in circle and yilu. ‘ Carrying Weight while moving. No light moves! ‘
Stepping exercise to develop ligament strength. Circle shape consists of three segments, only one is moving at a time while maintaining the circular shape.
