The Upper Midwest Hunyuan Taijiquan Academy Association is inviting you to join some of our members in participating at the AAU-CMA Columbia Midwest Super Regional on April 9th in Columbia, MO. I will be traveling to Iowa to give a work along lecture on Qigong on the 26th of February. This lecture will be an Introduction to Qigong and how it can help people maintain their health in this stressful society. There will be an Edmonton Taiji Seminar starting Monday February 14 to Friday Feb. 18. Topics covered will be Foundations leading to certification, Yilu corrections and Push Hands Drills. This is an excellent opportunity to get expert Taiji instruction during the cold winter – warm up your brain and body! This Seminar is suitable for beginner to advanced.
Monday and Tuesday classes will start at 8:30 am to 4:30pm, while Wednesday to Friday will be 9 am to 5 pm. Instruction will be by Allan Belsheim on Monday and Chen Zhonghua the rest of the week.

Having just arrived home from the frozen tundra of Edmonton, it’s nice to be back in Tampa. The seminar was just what I needed. If any of you have spent time refinishing wooden furniture you may appreciate this. Start with an old scratched up painted and confused piece of wood like a bookcase and strip it all the way down to it’s base, sand out the scratches smooth so the original grain shows clearly. Master Chen’s workshop this Saturday focused on the theme of ‘division of labour’ amongst the different parts of the body; he emphasized yet again that in order for movements to become functional under pressure, one part of the body must be perfectly still while the other part rotates. We looked at this rule through a variety of examples. Read more
This is the sixth Toronto workshop I’ve attended. Every workshop has been packed with information, intense training and a few good laughs. We had some very special guests from Italy – Master Bon and Neresini. The two were very friendly and eager to learn and share. Hope they come back soon. Read more
