The government of Wulian sponsored its first Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method Seminar on Daqingshan. The seminar runs from August 10 to 16, 2012. The government of Wulian has joined efforts with Grandmaster Chen Zhonghua to work towards making Wulian a county of Taiji.

This seminar is made up of 50 students from the government, educational sector, industry, commerce and the rural area. It is a special training course to certify the 50 people to be level one instructors to promote Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method in Wulian.

The government has plans to host the first Daqingshan International Taiji and Culture Festival from May 26 to 30 in 2013. A series of plans have been made to widen the roads, enhance hotel capacity, indoor training size, etc.

Daqingshan update i

by Wilkin Ng on 2012/07/13

James Tam from Ottawa left after two weeks. We have students arrived from Germany, Singapore and UK. Master Chen is stepping up the training sessions in preparation for competition at ZiTongShan next week.

The construction for the dam to form a small lake is almost finished, and we enjoyed some rainy days here so there are waters flowing down. Photos and video by Tim Duehring

Mr. Du Jianguo, Dean of the physical education college of the Weifang Institute came to visit the Daqingshan International Taiji Training Center with teachers in his department (Wang Dongsheng, Yin Honglan and Qin Zhihua). They spent two day on Daqingshan on this visit. They toured the facilities and participated in the center’s classes.

They invited Master Chen Zhonghua to give a lecture on July 6, 2012 to the students, teachers of their college and martial artists of Weifang.

This is my 603rd repetition of the form in 2012.

I would like to remind everyone (and invite those interested) that on September 24, 2012 Edmonton Full Time training will start and continue until December 21. This would be an excellent time for those who would relish this type of training and a North American location to visit Edmonton. Edmonton has few distractions to interrupt training so is ideal for learning.

Did Yilu on the ship while cruising on St Lawrence River. The deck was rocking, the wind was blowing. The condition for Tai Chi was very difficult. I lost balance in the very first a few moves in the first try.
