The big gathering of disciples currently at Daqingshan

The annual 7 day Edmonton Seminar with Grandmaster Chen Zhonghua and Master Allan Belsheim will be held at the Hunyuantaiji Academy 5222- 86 street, Edmonton Alberta from Saturday June 29 to Friday July 5 (9 am to 4:30 pm daily).

The Seminar will focus on Yilu corrections, Foundations, Push Hands,  Broadsword corrections and Theory. This is a major North American event that is designed to increase your understanding and knowledge of the correct study and application of Chen Taiji. Read more

In 2009 on Daqingshan, Master Chen Zhonghua instructed me to keep one point on my body stable and fixed during push hands practice. The location of the point was up to me; I could make it be the lower back, rear foot, etc. However, the most important thing was to maintain the integrity and stability of the chosen point. For students who have done a thousand yilu and want to go more into push hand, it is a good idea to pick up weapon form. Steve also practices with a heavy Guan Dao. Master Chen wrote “My experience is that students become much more coordinated when they get a chance to work with something in their hands.
