Transfer of energy is the whole purpose of taiji movements. Health, martial power, the grace of movements are all derivatives of this. The best transfer is always when body parts are stiff and straight. But these two conditions pose a problem. Taiji movements, for other reasons, require that body part in use must be soft and the movements must be circular. In this video, Master Chen Zhonghua talk about how to effective transfer power in taiji.
