Elbow In-Chen Zhonghua Online 20210915. This is a clip from Chen Zhonghua’s Sept. 15, 2021 online lesson.

The arm movement is regulated as “In with elbow, no hand; out with hand, no elbow”.

When we pull the elbow in, it creates movement and thus power. This power will cause the torso to toss unless it is dealt with. How can we deal with this power?

It has to go somewhere! By sinking the kua with the knee downward stretch, the elbow power is redirected to the ground. This at the same time stabilizes the torso!
