Believe it or not, this is from a Chinese twitter post. I often talk about actions in Taiji that are similar to this.

I love it. I’m sure I’m missing something though – please forgive my ignorance. But how does this relate to our art?

It seems Master Chicken is displaying very prominent yin yang separation; making the head the fixed point as the rest of the body is able to move freely.

Master Chen always patiently reminds his students that one part of the body cannot move, while the other parts stretch against that non-moving body part.

*i am not a student of Master Chen’s so this is just a beginner’s guess

fixing the hand in space as a fixed point that does not move, as the rest of the body moves/stretches against that fixed point in space (the hand)?
