Grandmaster Wang Deyou

Mr. Wang Deyou was born in 1946 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. He has a bachelor’s degree in science. He currently works as the vice-chief engineer at Xuzhou High Energy Ignition Corp.

He started learning Yang style taijiquan in 1966 and converted to Chen style in 1972. In 1973 he became GM Hong Junsheng’s disciple. After dozens of years of study, he has followed GM Hong’s teachings in his research and practice and achieved considerable skills.

Since 1973, he has been a coach and referee of taijiquan in Xuzhou. He has been teaching and promoting taijiquan through seminars and local teaching. In 1983 he was given the award of excellence in wushu teaching by the Jiangxu Provincial government.

Mr. Wang is a member of the Chinese Martial Arts Association,  a member of the Xuzhou Martial Arts Association and a member of the Huaxia Martial Arts Association. He is also the deputy chairman of the Xuzhou Chen Style Taijiquan Association. He is a major lineage holder of Hong’s Taijiquan in the Xuzhou area.
