Forward led by front kua, powered by rear foot

by Chen Zhonghua Taiji Academy on 2011/09/06

When initiating a forward movement:

  1. first you must start with your lower body, not upper body.
  2. the lower body is led by the front kua, not front foot. This frees the front foot. It does  not carry power or strength.
  3. the power comes from the rear foot, not front foot.
  4. connection from rear foot to front kua must be established.
  5. the body appears to be a bit leaning backward.
