Why does Taiqi says once moved, everything moved? Master Chen says move only one / more parts of the body and lock the rest of the body. Is this going against Taiqi principles or this is the right way and everything moved is wrong? Where can I start learning from Master Chen full time?

Think about how gears are engaged for “one part moves, every part moves”. You rotate one gear, the other gears will move too if they are engaged. The best way to learn from Master Chen full time is at Daqingshan, China. Check his schedule for the year, as it varies. However, don’t wait till you can go. Start now from his videos on this website: Basic Foundations, Detailed Yilu Instructions. There are tons of instructions that you can start following to copy his moves. It wil give you a head start before seeing him for the first time. Alternatively, find a local Practical Method instructor closest to your location.

I think of it like a bike. You push the pedal and the wheel turns, but the wheel is not turning itself — the torque from the pedals enters the system and transfers to the wheel. If you turn the wheel by hand, the pedal will also move. But if you try to push the pedal and try to turn the wheel by hand at the same time, you will have trouble.

It only relates to many non moving parts at the same time… better to say , one part rotates, then many parts can rotate. To walk is soon to run . Open the body, change the body. In Pm we must first experience war with ourselves over , and over. And over. It is our continuity.

I think Chen Zhonghua’s teachings focus on one thing at a time, to progressively and systematically build a solid foundation that could potentially lead to the higher levels of advanced skill achievement the classic taiji maxims talk about. So the seemingly simplistic instructions culminate into a combination of attributes/abilities/skills [alignment, rotation, etc] that could described as the taiji maxims at advanced practice stage.
