Key factors and important elements for proper training that are disclosed.
This video starts out with detailed instructions on how to train and move the kua into a forward thrust of the arm and hand, from beginners to more advanced. At first, too loose is a frequent problem in training. Fighting against a self-imposed restriction on yourself as you stretch is the key. Lock onto two points across your “kua” and stretch as if stretching a rubber cord and keeping the stretch under control as you open it up is a method taught by Master Chen. However, as your body adjusts to various restrictive forces against your actions, without training, body parts go out off alignment and that weakens your structural support. Master Chen’s instructions that can be found in the video will help get you back on the proper track. Another important point to watch out for is that self-imposed restrictions might make you “stiff” by preventing you from opening up your joints fully. Master Chen shows a Hunyuan taiji move that will lead to opening up of your shoulder joints. Thus, through the specific examples and drills from the video you will find a practical pathway to activate and expand mobility in your joints. In a nutshell, clear opening of the joints together with self-imposed restrictions, alignment, and synchronization within the body are skills that we need to learn in our training.
