Education
Since childhood, he was a disciples of Master Ma Yongkui, who was a coach of the pre-communist Shandong Martial Arts Academy master. Li learned Chaquan, weapons and Chinese wrestling from master Ma. 1964. He was selected into the Jinan Martial Arts Team. He studied from Grandmaster Yu Chenghui. He studied Praying Mantis, Sunbinquan, Drunken Sword, Double-handed Sword, Chuanlin Spear and government Wushu forms. 1974. He became a disciple of Grandmaster Hong Junsheng, 18th generation grandmaster of Chen Style Taijiquan. He studied the forms, push hands and weapons. During this period of time, he visited over 20 famous martial artists all over China and learned a great deal from them. 1974. Director and Head Coach of the Shandong Taiji Shangwu Martial Arts Club.
Achievements
Since the beginning of 1970s, he won many gold medals in Shandong Provincial Martial Arts competitions. He also won first place in traditional forms. 1980. Gold medal at the National Traditional Martial Arts Competition. 1981. Gold medal at the National Traditional Martial Arts Competition. 1991. All Around Champion and three gold medals at the Jinan International Traditional Wushu Competition. Since the start of his teaching career, his students won over 50 gold medals in Shandong Provincial Competitions. Since 1984. Produced 15 National Champions in National Championships, Taijiquan , Sword, and Push Hands competitions. Received a total of 150 medals including 50 gold medals. Sent one student (Huang Kanghui) to Beijing University of Physical Education, one student (Xie Xielei) to Shanghai University of Physical Education. Both are now lecturers at their universities.
