1. What is open? Why all the moves have to have a pivot? A non-moving dot in between two dots? Once there is a pivot, there are two sides, then the power has to go over, from one spot through the pivot to the other spot. That is power transmission in Taiji. Master Chen Zhonghua demonstrated how to find or create a pivot in the moves.
2. What is going down in Taiji? How to go down without actually going down? How to create power with going down?
Practice: rhythm in the circles, close and open, together and separate. Find a pivot, and open.

Amazing! Master Chen Zhonghua is a genius; one that is difficult to find in a thousand years (千載難逢)!

This video displays his brilliance in theory, knowledge, understanding and skills in Taijiquan. I believe he has significantly advanced the common wealth of knowledge and understanding, making it accessible to more people. The fact that he has integrated, at a conceptual level, both the levers of GM Hong and the (opening and closing開合) flow of GM Feng is both remarkable and exemplary of his abilities and contributions.

This video captures the essence of Taijiquan actions with a variety of demonstrations accompanied by detailed explanations. It focuses on explaining the functional meaning of “to open” in Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method. Explanations are all based on elementary physics/mechanics, without touching on mysterious forces or qi/chi. Specifically, levers and pivots; dots and rotations. Definitely among the top videos to keep and review in perpetuity.
