Roy Croucher private lesson review 20201103
– Cannon Fist corrections
– learn how to ‘pull up the green onion’, study the motion, practice the parts, repeatedly
– study on how to sink/lower the waist to press the elbow
– always extend in big moves, whether inside out or outside in
– never land on both feet at the same time, always a 1-2 count, otherwise is an example of creating ‘double heavy’ within our bodies
– use kua to draw the motion you want the hand to trace/create in space, might be similar to using a brush to trace the Chinese characters, the hand the same but the brush could be the kua (this needs discussion)
– without the anchor there is no power, the locked parts of the body become the physical anchor for the body part that moves beyond/outside the point of demarcation
– must learn how to lock, then throw the unlocked part(s) towards the point of intention
– study how to make the frontal change to middle then switch to foot (this might be about changing leads?)
– to learn to do the famous Chen Fake move from Yilu (pole shaking), study how to plant, lock and then move elbows in or hands out depending on the direction of the pole shake
– always create ‘scissors’, create the line scissors slice along
– make our PM fighting moves narrow in profile but big in volume, either inside-out or outside-in
