Zoom review 20201021
– language doesn’t matter, observation is most important and we need to re-calibrate gradually towards the PM specific language
– must learn to separate everything into 2 things (yin/yang)
– do not copy the apparent smoothness of forms, rather try to be clear with each movement (use cadence count in head, 1-2-3, etc.)
– being clear in practice is like the frame rate of a slide show; like stop motion, each frame should be very distinct
– when we rotate, that movement is an inhuman engine for power production
– train the kua, lots, develop the following in both kua; 1. rotation, 2. size of movement, 3. for frame by frame clarity of movement
– our core energy needs lots of development, both intentionally and mechanically
– we must all begin to record our form for ongoing comparision and correction by GM and teachers
– in PM we must have the water boiling, close to boiling point is just preparation, either its on the boil or its not
– think of body in a cylinder, can’t move outside of it
– restrictions are what creates Peng
– ‘your teacher looks constipated’ is considered a compliment in PM performance
– to become immortal one must lose human characteristics
– find ways to contribute to rotational capacity in movement; spirals everywhere
…learning to live, a breath at a time…
