To me, this means that we are all students in taiji, some further along than others, and even the real masters are still learning because the art is that broad and deep. The master has already learned and laid the foundation, and can now explore the principles and continue to learn on their own while at the same time teaching other students just beginning to learn the foundation.
I think it is the mark of somebody who truly loves their art that continues to want to learn more and more about their art, even after they have already been recognized as a master and have many students. The true master is still a student of taiji.
Student learns from reference of masters and practitioners while real master study it through his vision of life and nature on his own.
Actually masters learn from students in more ways than most people like to believe.
I see. However, I think only real masters can always empty himself to receive knowledge from students. I remember a story of Grand Master Hong that he could even learn from a banana skin after a slippery over it.
