Master and Student

The only difference between the master and student is that the student learns publicly and the master learns privately.

To me, this means that we are all students in taiji, some further along than others, and even the real masters are still learning because the art is that broad and deep. The master has already learned and laid the foundation, and can now explore the principles and continue to learn on their own while at the same time teaching other students just beginning to learn the foundation.

I think it is the mark of somebody who truly loves their art that continues to want to learn more and more about their art, even after they have already been recognized as a master and have many students. The true master is still a student of taiji.

Student learns from reference of masters and practitioners while real master study it through his vision of life and nature on his own.

Actually masters learn from students in more ways than most people like to believe.

I see. However, I think only real masters can always empty himself to receive knowledge from students. I remember a story of Grand Master Hong that he could even learn from a banana skin after a slippery over it.

无论是老师亦或是学生都贯穿着由学而习,由习生问从而又学再习, 形成螺旋上升的趋势. 而老师的学和习与学生的学和习的角度是不同的.
有个问题想请教您, 请问混元太极可否适合零基础的老年人练习? 谢谢!
