This was an incredibly helpful video for me to get a better sense of how “Full” is created using a combination of “lock two points” , “stretch”, and “taking up space” around the opponent to make them into a “stick” that is easily manipulated. It helps to drive home concepts like “fit don’t fight” and “touch many points” and how they are utilized in this process. Great examples of applications in the second half of the video. As always, it is good to see the principles in action and get ideas of how to work on them.

‘ Bending ‘
This is a commonly misunderstood taiji term. The assumption is ‘ bending ‘ means what we commonly think of as bending. Coincidentally sometimes it does, but this can lead to confusion. One method of creating a stretch is by locking the two ends, and moving whats in the middle to become longer. If you are attempting to do this, and you move one of the two locked ends, it is referred to as ‘ bending ‘. When you bend where you intend to stretch you lose all your taiji power. Don’t bend.
