The spirals in the lower body are important, though difficult to perform or see. The legs are mainly for stability and the production of power. Movement is discouraged. In this video, Master Chen Zhonghua shows how to move the energy from the Dantian to the feet without tossing the legs.

Sitting in a chair with wheels, my feet up against a wall, i could push the chair without extending my knee, ankle or any joint. Just spiraling rolled me away from the wall.
This video goes well with the Thigh video.
It helps me have a better understanding of how the energy is generated by opening the kua, rotating the thigh thru the knee to the calf and ankle to the heel. Previously I had been trying to rotate the waist, calf/ankle.
This is a very informative video. The connection through the entire body to the feet is quite clear. The failure of my form to complete that connection is also quite clear. This viewing of the video has helped me to see how to seek that proper connection. Thank you for the instruction.
Excellent!!! THANKS!!!!
