It is not very often that you see Master Chen doing the Yilu “the Old Way” – with lots of rotations. Veyr much an insights in what it can be if study persists.
This trailer is probably my favourite, I just love to see Master Chen doing the Yilu this way, I also like the hybrid (if it is ok to use this term, where Erlu is interspersed within the Yilu), it looks more dynamic, which should convince those who view it from the outside, of its effectiveness. I know that when I first started the Practical Method, I found it completely alien (I had sampled other Chen Taiji systems briefly). Now however, I am more & more analysing each move & trying to ascertain where the circles(positive & negative) are, my body is becoming more attuned to this method, I cannot move any other way, even if I wanted to.
