At the moment Master Chen is giving the 21th Practical Method Seminar on Daqinshan. More then 80 peoples are participating and there are both advanced (beneath them many disciples) and beginners.
I want to give you a brief insight of this event.
1) Classes
Lessons are between 6:00 – 7:00, 9:00-11:30, 14:30-17:00 and 19:30-21:00.
早– Early Morning – 6:00-7:00
Already around 5:00 o`clock the first participants meet to do yilus and fondations, helping each other, repeating moves, which has been learned the days before. At 6:00 o`clock the morning class starts. It contains fondations – fondations – fondations, yilu (mainly part one) – ten times. Usually three to for instructors are present, giving corrections from time to time. Also Master Chen is walking around, observing the training and giving corrections. After this practice unit the class is tought either by Master Chen or the Daqinshan Instructors.
上午– Forenoon – 9:00-11:30 and 下午– Afternoon – 14:30-17:00
The classes are starting with fondations, followed by learning and deepen yilu. Chén Xù is showing the moves step by step and gives explanations. Afterwards the whole grooup together repeats one and the same move for around thirty times. This is the time for corrections and handson. In the end of every session very often Master Chen is showing moves in the middle of the group, giving everybody the opportunity to touch him and feel, what he is showing.
晚上– Evening – 19:30-21:00
The evening class is starting with fondations and followed by pushhands. Master Chen keeps walking around showing here and there moves. Many people are staying on the third floor until 22:00 o`clock, even if the class is ending at 21:00.
2) Instructors and Participants
The classes are hold by Master Chen and Daqinshan Instructors.
This year around 80 participants practiced diligently together.
3) Surrounding
Unique this time is the closeness of the participants. Nearly all are staying in the international hotel, there are only a few tourists on the mountain, so the third and forth floor is completly occupied by taiji practioners. This gives the feeling of a big family, especially because also the meals are taken together in one conference room. The food is very diversified and luscious. The timetable is chosen wisely. Exactly after the class everybody is going to eat (the meals are already served and still hot) and has afterwards a period of rest for sleeping, hiking, chatting…
Alongside Master Chen and Master Sun are inspiring with drawingbeautiful calligrafies, which can be won through pushhands or are sometimes given offhandedly. In this week we also had a very nice discipleship ceremony and got six new family members.
4) Overall
This is a marvelous week with a lot of input, very well structured learning units and a lot of practice opportunities in a beautiful and inspiring setting. The atmosphere between the participants is extremly good.

Dear Michael
I’m a basic level chinese language student in Lisbon and a yang taichi practioner for some time.
I’ve been looking with interest master Cheng videos and there is an opportunity for me to travel to China next July on a two week vacation.
How would you advise me to enroll for a trainig period on your school? Is that even posible around those dates?
What steps and what cost would be necessary to organise it?
I’ve been going through the website but it’s hard to have a clear picture of the necessary steps to go through.
Could you help me or point me to the right the information?
thanks in advance
Luis Portugal
