Lots of very important details in this video. Adjusting the placement of the foot to establish position to maintain the center. Using the arms to create a catch, then rotate the waist. No shoulder. Don’t try to escape the ‘ caught ‘ position. Don’t push… ‘ stretch ‘. When the center does not move, any move is a rotation. Shoulder lower than the hand. Clarifying ‘ hand out ‘. Take the power and rotate on it…. don’t dodge it. Taking opponents power to the rear foot. How to train rotating the kua. Using the 45 degree angle. Entice into emptiness. This is a really excellent video for studying push hands foundations, with so many essential components all consolidated into one video.
I got a lot out of this video. The concept of transferring opponent’s push to one’s back foot as one opens the kua to rotate his power back to him was very clear. Also when you are ‘stuck’ is the best position. Also shoulder must be lower than the hand. Much else besides. Thanks to Master Chen
Those looking to improve their push-hands will get a lot out of this video. Important tips that are not usually detailed in other videos to execute the applications. I have to re-watch this video a couple of time to digest the knowledge.
