The rear leg in fetching water

by Wang Long on 2011/12/02

Master,

How are you? It’s been several months since I saw you last. I am looking forward to seeing you again to listen to your teachings. I have been training daily without skipping.
I went to Linyi today and had an exchange with Wu Shaozhi. I have a question for you. When doing the “fetch water” exercise, is the rear leg straight or bent? Wu Shaozhi said it is straight but the few of us in Rizhao train with a bent rear leg. Are we wrong?
Sorry for the confusion. Hope to hear your instructions.

Thanks very much!

Whether it is bent or straight is not the issue here. The key is that it cannot move. It should be a static action. The front leg is in dynamic action. Once you know how to do this, you can switch them, meaning you can make the front leg static and rear leg dynamic.
