We will be having our summer get together the weekend of July 23 and 24 at Pikes Peak State Park in McGregor, Iowa. We will be working on Yilu forms, foundations, applications and push hands. All skill levels are invited to attend. There are motel/hotel rooms available in McGregor, but it is advisable to book early, McGregor is a casino town and the rooms are usually full. One can also check for rooms in nearby Marquette and Guttenberg, Iowa. There are camping spots available at the park. http://www.iowadnr.gov/parks/state_park_list/pikes_peak.html For more information, contact John Upshaw (319) 404-3962.

These gatherings are pretty good. We usually get a good 5-6 hours in on saturday with all the things that Tim mentioned. After practice we usually go eat and chat for a while. Also pikes peak state park in Iowa is amazing. It is like you are not in Iowa. The view is wonderful and it is a great setting for practicing Taiji. The area is cheap and only 3 hours from Chicago or Milwaukee.
For those interested, a few of us will informally begin the evening of July 22nd. If accommodations are an issue, let me know so I can be of assistance. We have permission from the Park Ranger to use their showers again. Last year’s Upper Midwest Practical Method gathering was an awesome experience. Good people, good training, good scenery, and good food…it’s all good…
