0:30 Master Chen demonstrated the difference between a push and a split. When it is split, in this case, the right arm went forward while the left arm went backwards. I didn’t do it correctly because my buttocks were not fixed. By the right hand going forward, and the right heel going backwards, a split was created with the middle (the buttocks) not moving.

1:05 Master Chen demonstrated the use of the waist to create the split vs arm muscles.

1:54 A move going forward must be matched by a move going backward. In this case, the right (front) hand was going forward while the left (rear) leg was going backward.

2:15 Watch closely that Master Chen’s front kua didn’t move, the right hand and left foot were moving proportionly. The key is finding a position where the middle (front kua) does not move. This is like an auger. This is “fix the middle, move the two ends”.

2:55 Master Chen demonstrated the front hands matched by his tail bone going backwards.

3:32 My two hands are the two points that formed a non-moving line. Master Chen dropped his kua to go under the line to the other side. Because the two points didn’t move, there was no fight when he dropped his kua. I get no feedback, and I can’t react to his move.

3:50 When Master Chen dropped his left kua, something shot up to go over the line and over me to cause me to fall down.

4:00 Every correct move would seem very dangerous, and nobody wants to put himself there. That’s why it is so difficult.

4:50 In order to reverse the move by the opponent, we need to get outside of the control of the opponent first without really leaving the opponent. That move itself is very dangerous.

7:30 We must make ourselves longer. In this demonstration, since Master Chen is trying to create a horizontal force against me. At the beginning position, let’s say the ground distance between his kua and his rear foot is X. When he put his rear foot more backward without moving his front kua, the ground distance has increased, it is now more than X. Eventually, we will realize that to make it longer without moving is to rotate.
