Gears
There is always lots of interest in this aspect of Practical Method, even from people outside of our lineage. This video explains a lot of the intricacies of how the ‘ geared ‘ type of movement method works. As he teaches Jonathan, Master Chen gives a lot of detail on what to do, and what not to do to train out this process. Learning to ‘ match ‘ the two main gears ( there is a lot more to it than this ), before your ever create a differential in size of the gears is of paramount importance. That in itself is quite difficult as we see, from the many pitfalls. There are so many important details in this one, even some really interesting content on projection and intent towards the end. If you have trouble with it , I recommend watching the recent series on ‘ Centered Moves ‘ . 4 videos on developing correct joints movement. This one is an elaboration that builds on top of that foundation.
I value your opinion among others on the site. Will you please tell me where I can find the 4 ” Centered Moves ” videos you speak of. What are they entitled ?
Thank you, sorry I didn’t see your question until now, glad you found them.
