The experience of learning practical Taiji
Since the first class started on 20th of last month, I have been studying practical Tai Chi for a month until today, and gained following experience after a month’s study.
1. hold-on. As for “hold-on”, what I comprehend is that neither knees nor shoulders should shake or move once they are fixed. For example, even if am moving my hand, the knees should be fixed and stable in the movement of “Lan Zha Yi”.
2. Spine should be straight, as flexible as a door spindle. When performed the movement of “Pushing Hand” with Senior Ma this afternoon, I had a further understanding on concept of axis rotation. Senior Ma pushed me away easily even with the leaning-back position. I was surprised and asked him the reason, then he told me the principle of stick, which reminded me of the description of two-section staff on Page 145 of Gui Ju. Isn’t this the concrete reflection?
3. For Closing, what I comprehend is that we should contact with the rival firmly and tightly when performing the movement of “Pushing Hand”, instead of keeping away from the opponent for its strong strength.
All of above are my experience on learning practical Tai Chi during the past month. And finally, I’d like to express my gratitude to Senior Ma for helping me to correct my movements and explain the key points of Tai Chi in his busy time, which helped me in mastering the Tai Chi 13 movements within such a short period of time.

The weather is typical Spring weather. The temperatures flucuate from about 5C to 25C. The sun shines most days and there are usually some big storms that arrive in later May.
