Many fake things originated as high level mastery. It is the people who don’t have the skill but want to present themselves as highly skilled masters that make people think that the original act was also fake.
Very often, when this happens, the average person tend to believe the fake act and refuse to believe the original real act.

Master Chen, this phenomena is getting more prevalent, so much so, these “masters” and their students have attacked Chen style’s push hands as being not push hands at all. They have commented that the techniques we use in competition is not push hands at all. How can we educate the public about the way we approach push hands. Thank you.
Invite them to try it.
Thanks for the reply, Master Chen. Sorry for one last question. I am sure you must have seen videos of people jumping vigorously at the slightest touch of a master. In your opinion, is this even possible? I was told that the jumping was done in order to avoid injuries due to the “fa jin”. Personally, I find this a bit not very “taiji”, but I hope to have you advice. Thank you in advance, Master Chen.
