This video is recommended to help further your understanding of how to lock a spot and create a lever. Examples are given how to avoid having your own power return onto yourself. A great exercise (worthy of much practice) is taught and then applied at the end of the video as a throw used in fighting. Enjoy.
Very good video on the principle of locking one spot. If you can entice your opponents power to fight for a spot and lock it, it can become the fulcrum of a powerful lever. If you can get this principle you can gradually understand, power in taiji is not related to how much force you can apply (although of course that is relevant secondary consideration), but it is more a matter of how well you can lock one spot.
This video is 5 years old but the lesson is timeless and priceless. Locking on a spot and issuing power without tossing or deviation is clearly explained. How to train proper habit is revealed. The principle is evident everywhere whether in form or fighting. Terrific video.
