It is also sometimes called the division of labor in my previous teaching. This feature is one of the distinguishing characteristics of Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method. The principle involved in this is “complex tasks are accomplished by each body part doing its own job”. Crossing function is considered a violation of taiji rules.

Instructive video!!, Master Chen showed how various body parts should line up during the circles and other moves. I like the detailed explanation on the kua, a crucial link for proper power generation.
