Now there is no limit on visa extension. Back in 2008 a Chinese entry visa can only be extended once inside China. The new requirement is that there has to be 100 US dollars available for each day extended. Some of the full time taiji students this year have to extend their visas twice.

If you have any serious medical conditions, you should inform the full time course administration. In particular:

  1. Any medical conditions that might require emergency evacuation or first aid measures (for example, diabetes, heart problems, and severe allergies).
  2. Any medications that you are taking which are vital to your health.

Additionally, please inform the staff as soon as possible if you have, or if you contract, any communicable disease.

Do you know the visa situation in China?  I am going to stay in China for 3 months and possibly a year, but I’ve heard China stopped issuing 60 and 90 day visas.  Do you know how difficult it is to get a 6 month visa?  I am going to get mine in Hong Kong, hoping it might be easiest to get a visa there. I teach the two systems for two reasons:

  • chocolate
  • lots of socks
  • really good hiking shoes

Sorry we have not included any information on this subject. It will be very easy to live as a vegetarian on the mountain. We are growning our own vegetables this year. If you decide to go, let us know as soon as you can, we will start planting things that will suit you. Lots of soya bean products. We make our own tofu on the mountain too!
