In this video, Master Chen teaches a new foundation exercise to develop the ‘hinges’ in our body. The hinge is one of the most important techniques that the Practical Method system uses to develop higher levels of taiji skill. This video was shot on Daqingshan on July 14, 2010 with the full time students.

Again, Master Chen has shown why he is such a great teacher. He is showing a seemingly simple concept that will change the way you move and more correctly interpret the Taiji form and it is explained in such a way that it is accessible to the practitioner. I am always grateful when he shares his expertise.

I really like this video. Shows thehinge movements ad how they apply to Yilu very clearly so if I can’t do it, it is not the fault of this video.

To get the most out of this video, I suggest watching One Leg first.

Greetings,

I just bought this video and what I got was this video:
Opening the door exercise
http://practicalmethod.com/2010/07/opening-the-door-exercise/

What I was hoping to get was the video described as:
Master Chen has uploaded a more detailed video demonstrating an exercise to develop the hinges. It is based on move 79 in Yilu turn and lotus kick, with an additional rotation to develop the hinge on the left side of the body.

Where can I find that one?

Thank you, Jim
