This video explains clearly why the center must not move and why there must be a split of power. It also showed techniques on not losing focus on the opponent’s center and protecting one’s own center from the opponent’s attack and discussed factors affect speed and when a direct move or rotation move should be applied.

It is so rich in contents that it took me 2 hours to finish the 36 minutes video. One will have a much better understanding of the principles that Master Chen has emphasized repeatedly after viewing this video. This is important part of the key to get into the entrance of Taiji. Anyone who has learnt choreography of Yilu and want to improve his skills in pushing hand must see it.

It is strange Bruce. I don’t think I wrote the above comments, not 2 days ago anyway. I even do not have access to the video. Yet again the comments do sound like me. Did I view it and write the comments in my dream? Anyway, the comments do look good and have intrigued me. Now I have to view it because my comments that I did not write. How weird it is.

Chen Laoshi:

This video explains taiji characteristics from the perspective of clear principles. I especially enjoyed your explanation of the futility of “li” power/force vs. transmission of energy onto the opponent. Also, the mastery in which you held your finger on a point but added elbow, shoulder, gua and rear leg adjustment to create power is simply astounding – a real gem worthy of much research and practice. Thank you for sharing.

Great video, thanks for uploading!
This was quite astounding as KT put it, its a simple Video, but many details in it shine when explaining the Taiji principles, if you ever had questions about alignment, rotation, or even ‘don’t move’, this may be the video for you. Its a Video for push hands and also a video for Yilu.
Always keep one dot fixed.
