by Chen Zhonghua Taiji Academy on 2013/03/16

If you are a student of the Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method under myself, my students or online, you are invited to join my student qq study group. You can download the software for your phone, computer, ipad, etc. here:
http://www.imqq.com/

Then you need to set up a qq account.

Apply to be a member of the group: 207361299. When applying, please state who you are and why you are applying.

I plan to find a suitable time to actually teach lessons with this facility. I have been experimenting with Chinese students and find it very useful.

If you have any problems, please email Tim Duehring: tduehring@sbcglobal.net.

  • You can ask questions
  • View chat history
  • Participate online or offline (read the chat history).

Thanks.

Just signed up, it’s easy and works great!

Tried to sign up, but no confirming email has arrived from qq. The directions say go online 24 hours later to verify account. Does this mean that the email from qq takes a day to arrive?

I received the email in about 5 minutes, it was in my junk mail.

I’ve purchased a lot of videos from this site and attempt to practice on my own. Can I sign up for this or is it for official students only?

Reply

alhkc March 17, 2013 at 1:27 am

Great thanks! That was easy but the QQ ID verification box didn’t allow much space for me to introduce myself. Just enough for a name and location. Hope that’s good enough.

can’t seem to find the group…. my qq number is 1840259804 ….please add me, thanks….

Where you are looking, there is a contact / group button. If you search in the contact you cannot find our group.

Reply

bruce.schaub March 17, 2013 at 4:23 pm

When I click on the groups button, there are several different categories, each with 20 or 30 groups, i looked thru them all but the closest thing I saw was a “Kung Fu” group in the “other interests” category. None of the groups match the number given in the original post and I don’t see a search bar to look for groups by number? I’m signed in to the qq international site? must be doing something wrong….

Hey Bruce,

You have probably found it now, but just in case – There is a “find friends” button on the very bottom of the window, next to the little sun shape. It will have a + sign. I got confused as well because of the search contacts thing at the top. After clicking find friends you just click in the top right tab that says ‘join a group’ and search for the group 207361299.

Thanks Tom, my computer ineptitude struck again. In windows 7, the qq software hides the little penguin you need to communicate with people in with other hidden icons. I was trying to find the group on the website. Finally found it. It’s nice to have another layer of insights into practical method…..

I’v e tried to sign up with qq three times with three different email addresses. So far I have not received any return email from them authorizing my attempts to register. Help!!

michaelkoh March 18, 2013 at 8:10 am

I suggest when you guys register into QQ, use a google mail or hotmail email address. Some of you guys from the west might have anti-spam or firewall that rejects email from China.

Reply

Patrick Dickson March 18, 2013 at 10:16 pm

Great tip….changed to a hotmail address and all of a sudden it all worked…thanks Michael

Reply

Andre March 18, 2013 at 8:57 pm

I also had trouble tried hotmail today, it works. i tried the online client since I mainly use linux, its crappy, don’t go there. Stay with the normal client.

Best of luck to everyone.

On a side note though, wasn’t skype a easier/simpler alternative?

Cheers

It took me a few days to figure out how to, because I was reluctant to download anything to my computer. It turns out that I have to download QQ International. (I thought getting into QQ International website was enough.)

Signed in this morning. Immediately joined the discussion and learned a great deal.

Thanks Ping for informing us that there is something going on. I thought discussions were scheduled and per-announced. It appears that we will have to check back every once a while to see what’s new.

The formal lessons are to be scheduled and have not started yet.

Tried getting this for the iPhone with no luck. Anyone able to do this?

Reply

Kelvin Ho March 20, 2013 at 4:41 pm

I got it working on my iPhone. I think that you need to use the Chinese version on the phone. You should sign up at http://www.imqq.com/ first, and then download the PC or Mac version, and get all the group stuff set up. Lastly, download “QQ 2012” from the iPhone app store. You then only need to sign in with your QQ id or your email address and your password to log in. Although QQ 2012 is chinese, you should be able to find the group to start chatting.

There used to be a Qigong DVD. Are there any left? Also, I cannot find a Qigong video on the site.
Thanks.

Go to “SHOP” – then to “Essential Videos” and click on “previous post” at the bottom of the page and scroll back 4 pages. Basic 12 form Qigong as well as Detailed Qigong Instruction Videos are found there. Also try the “search” button and see if that takes you to the Qigong Videos.

Kenny,

For the English group, you should now use WeChat app instead. Once you have downloaded the app and registered, search for me using “kelvinkwho” as the WeChat ID. Add me as your contact, and I will add you to the English student group.

I have some questions below:

1. Daqingshan training expense (during 11-17 Aug 2018), how much of training fee? How much of accommodation/ resort expense for stay?

2. Training outline on that duration.

3. What is the most convenient travel if I go from Bangkok to Daqingshan? (Which flight should I take? Is there local transportation on there to take me to Daqingshan resort?)
