Thank you for this incredible lecture and the much needed clarity and perspective on history, training procedure, and martial content of taijiquan.

Science has invested huge resources to build a circle in order to measure the already proposed god particle. I can only say to them, that they are far behind in the race. The inner circle of Qigong can bring you to a state which is beyond particle physics !

Iv’e been following the search for the elusive Higgs-Boson particle or field, and I would say it’s no less of a difficult than the search for the mysterious pass, but it is unlikely they will find it because i imagine it is so small, it only exists on the edge of non-existance and is there and not there at the same time. I would definitely agree with you that they are lagging far behind the Taoists. As evidenced by the famous physicist Neils Bohr who when given the Nobel prize made the Taiji symbol the centerpeice of his Coat of Arms…underscored by the words “opposites are complimentary”….. kind of funny when you think about it, not to mention E=mc2 being a mathematical description of the taiji symbol with the only variable difference between energy and matter is speed….

maybe they should dig a hole straight down in the center of the 17 mile circle of particle accelerator and see whats going on there???

If they dig deep enough the´ll see China 🙂

I was quite astonished when i saw the Taiji on his Coat of Arms some time ago. Someone must have introduced him to a chinese master , i think. When i become a knight, my shield will carry the caduceus.

Thank you for a great lecture. Master Chen, you could hit the TaiJi comedy circuit.

Shifu: I remember that you said that there is only one true master per generation. Chen Fake, and Hong Junsheng were the two from recent generations. Yet, as mentioned in the video, this was the lethal skill for the battlefields. Were theses fighters in the battlefields also masters, i.e. were there more masters in the old days; or, were they not masters, yet, they still were able to achieve proficient battle skills?

This is a very nice overview of Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method. It includes a little history, a little philosophy, an introduction to culture and an introduction to Taijiquan training methods.
