Book Review: “Talent Code”

by Wilkin Ng on 2012/02/24

I recently read “The Talent Code” by Daniel Coyle from a friend recommendation. A well written and researched book which matched my experience in learning Taijiquan.

Student has to be inspired and be willing to struggle, Only with these ingredients and a knowledgeable teacher, the skill can be mastered.

really interesting Wilkin…the 4 page excerpt really describes the learning process well…the dichotomy between inspiration and struggle to produce real results (and having someone who intimately understands the process to guide you) and how that effects your molecular morphology locking in neural connections through repeated, concentrated practice…truly affecting your your deep internal structure at a cellular level… great stuff!!! really like the part about repeated nerve firings causing increased impulse speed ” faster impulse speed = skill”
