Jervis,
Sorry Jervis, I am not teaching in Sydney. But if you happen to drive by, am quit happy to go through a few things with you. It’s good to train with different poeple who want to learn.
I am planning to teach in Canberra starting in January 2011. Am still looking for the right date/venue. In the mean time I am consolidating my knowledge of what I picked up, doing my Yilu, and practising positive and negative circles. I also put some videos of Master Chen Zhonghua on my work computer so I can watch them during lunch time if I remember and I have put some of the videos on my phone. At the moment:
Doing my daily Yilu’s, my positive/ negative circles, seeing/ feeling the progress with work of the circles. Use of the Kua, stand in the different postures, from small to large angles, so that you can feel how the legs try to compensate one way or the other. And more importantly, remember the daily short instructions that Master Chen gave us at Daqingshan, some of which are on video, are really coming close to the points that are important for every Taiji practitioner. Movements “corrected” in our individual session are still being ironed out. Although, with more presence or awareness of the movement, as practice improved my ability to feel what is going on.
When we were in Daqingshan, in the beginning it was very much like a large download. There’s so much stuff that went on, that most of us will have forgotten some by now. When I saw video footage of Master Chen explaining some Chen Practical Method aspects, I was intrigued that I had forgotten about those parts, and promptly reviewed it. Look for the gems in the videos, some are subtle.
Other videos scenes you can only understand if you know what is going on. But once you do, then your mind says to you: “And how I am I supposed to do this?” Well, just do your Yliu, and do plenty of Positive and negative circles.

Eric and Jervis,
Join me on Saturday morning 8:30 at the National Library. (On the side closest to the Bridge)
I also flagged with the ANU that I want to run classes at the ANU next semester. If they reject the request, I have already worked out an alternative at the ANU during the week from 19:30 onwards. But I will keep you posted.

Andrew,
James has moved to Perth. However, I’ve moved from Canberra to Sydney, and am running classes at Jubilee Park in Glebe (end of Glebe Point Road) from 9-10:30am. Call me on 0404 088112 to know more.

PS: I am organising the Workshop and Private Sessions with Master Chen Zhonghua in November 2013. If you want to attend the workshop, you definitely need to contact me sooner rather than later.

Paul
